Start with the people and the work
Understand the project, the audience it serves, who makes decisions, and which relationships and rights matter. Make the business structure serve the work, not the other way around.
Make the process repeatable
Document what works in a form that another person can understand and use. Platforms come and go; a practical method should outlast the software used to deliver it.
Preserve authorship
Efficiency is not the only value. Creative work needs ambiguity, taste, difficulty, and decisions that belong to people rather than systems.
Keep progress understandable
Know what was published, what is still in development, who can approve a change, and how to correct a mistake without losing the work behind it.
