ACORN

Let the models generate. Govern what survives.

AI tools can help a team research, draft, and make decisions, but a chat history is not a trustworthy organizational record. ACORN is C&C's developing approach to keeping the relevant context, evidence, and human authority outside any one AI provider.

Powerful intelligence, fragile continuity.

Different sessions can answer differently. A provider's memory is not the institution's memory. A confident answer is not evidence. When the tool changes, the institution should not lose what it knew.

Keep the institution's context in the institution's hands.

The ACORN framework is designed to keep context, evidence, relationships, and decision authority with the organization rather than a model session. Its intended distinction is between giving a useful, appropriately qualified answer and allowing a claim to change an institutional record.

What changes in practice.

Continuity

The goal is to continue an objective with another AI tool without depending on the previous chat transcript.

Recoverability

Preserving an original AI response makes it easier to review what the tool returned before deciding what to trust.

Accountability

When an AI answer proves wrong, record the correction rather than quietly treating the first answer as accepted evidence.

How the method is organized.

ACORN stands for Authenticated Context Organizing Relational Network. It is not itself an AI model or agent. These six concepts explain the approach for readers who want the technical detail.

Pollen

A bounded projection of the context an external computational system needs for one objective.

Capture

A clocked raw return retained before interpretation. A receipt establishes chronology and custody, not truth.

Correspondence

Claims and useful differentials are cross-referenced against governed context, evidence, authority, and objective state before they can change institutional memory.

Pragmatic response

The user can receive a useful, caveated answer when warranted even if the evidence is insufficient for canon admission.

Compost

Incorrect or rejected output can improve future context and validation without silently becoming evidence or authority.

Regeneration

Validated progress is retained so another provider can continue the objective without inheriting the previous provider's private conversation history.

A useful answer is not automatically a verified fact. The method aims to help teams use AI research responsibly without mistaking a fluent response for their own evidence or decision. This page explains a developing approach, not a hosted software product or a guarantee that a particular AI workflow has been independently validated.
